Hugo was a little hero in his cake-smash shoot in my studio in Derry!
I’ll be honest, this was always going to be one of my fave cake-smash sessions, simply because little Hugo is my nephew! With all the Covid rules we weren’t sure if my sister would even be able to visit but thankfully they all made it safely from Edinburgh and we had a great week with them. (The session was back in August, when travel was easier)
He was all smiles as soon as he sat down, and it didn’t take him long to work out that the cake was his and he could get stuck in! The icing seemed to hit the spot with him and he couldn’t get enough of it.
I couldn’t persuade his mum to jump into any of the photos as she was trying to stay clean but Hugo soon made sure he ‘shared’ some cake with her! The downside of being his proud uncle is that he wasn’t shy on coming up to me too to share some smashed cake 🙂
It was brilliant to have him in the studio for his cake-smash photos and we had plenty of laughs watching him making a mess for his first birthday!
