Frequently Asked Questions

Is your last name actually love?

Yep, pretty perfect for the career I've ended up in!  My wife is delighted too, she was starting the paperwork as soon as our wedding celebrations had ended!

What makes your work different from other photographers’ work?

I have a very casual and natural style and aim to document the story of the day, mingling stunning portraits of you and your bridal party within a collection of reportage photos. I want to ensure that everyone who views your album can relive your wedding with the same level of fun and excitement as on the day itself!

We live out of town, how will this affect our consultation?

I always love to meet my couples before their special day but sometimes distances prevent that. However, everything can be handled remotely, either via email, phone or Skype video chats and I’m always happy to meet up with trusted friends or relatives who may live closer.

We're having a destination wedding, do you travel?

Yes! I love destination weddings and have been fortunate so far to shoot weddings in England, Scotland and Europe and I’m always looking forward to my next one! Send me more information on your travel plans, and I'll create a custom wedding collection to suit your needs.

My fiancé hates having their photo taKEN, AND WE DON'T WANT LOTS OF POSED SHOTS. iS THAT ok?

Yes, of course, and I completely understand (I was the same on my wedding day, shhh!) I always aim to capture natural, genuine photos with as little direction as possible, your photography is a big part of your day and if you're enjoying yourselves this will show in your images. Occasionally I will pose you together for some photos that parents and grandparents will love, but your album will be filled with the real moments of your love together on your big day!

What equipment do you use?

I use all of the latest Canon equipment and always carry two camera bodies and a range of professional lenses as well as a collection of lighting equipment to ensure that I am ready for every situation and that if anything goes wrong I have a backup close to hand. After your wedding all your images are backed up to multiple locations that night, both in my office and off-site, to ensure the safety of your memories.

Do you have insurance?

Yes, I carry full public liability and professional indemnity insurance. If you or your venue require proof then I'd be happy to email you a copy.

How long will we be waiting for our photos?

I know you can't wait to see your photos, and I can't wait for you to see them either! I always aim to post a sneak peek the morning after your big day so you can share your photos as soon as possible. Your full gallery will be ready within 6 weeks, hopefully quicker, especially at quieter times of the year.

What happens if you're ill on our day?

Thankfully this hasn't happened yet but I do have plans in place, just in case. I am close friends with a number of photographers who I can ask to fill in at late notice, as well as being a member of the PPANI (Professional Photographers of Northern Ireland) who would also all be able to help out at short notice.
If it's possible I'd provide you with a shortlist of photographers of similar styles who are available on your date. This may not be possible in extreme circumstances and my priority is to ensure you have an amazing photographer for your big day.

How do we reserve our wedding date?

First, get in contact so I can check that I have your date available and to confirm your date I simply require a booking fee of £300 and your signed contract. Dates are allocated strictly on a first booked basis, so don’t delay!
