If you’re planning your Redcastle Hotel wedding then this is the essential guide for you! The Redcastle Hotel is one of my favourite venues to photograph weddings at and I have shot dozens there over the years. I’ve also stayed as a guest a number of times and it’s been fantastic every time (the pool is a must to relax in the morning after!). I have extensive knowledge of the area and of my favourite spots to shoot to ensure stunning portraits to treasure! The food is always fantastic and Michaela, Aisleen and their team ensure your day runs perfectly! I caught up with Aisleen to find out why she believes the Redcastle is such a great hotel.

At Redcastle we have seen many weddings, but we never stop getting excited about them. Whether it is a small intimate gathering of friends and family or a lavish affair for 300 of your nearest and dearest we will give you all our attention.
The Ocean Suite with breath-taking views overlooking Lough Foyle not only makes our venue unique, it also makes it perfect. This space can hold weddings from 80 guests to over 300 guests. We also cater for civil ceremonies. We host the arrivals drinks reception on The Deck, which also looks onto the stunning view of Lough Foyle.
What kind of service can couples expect when they book their wedding at Redcastle?
When couples start to plan their wedding there are two things that stand out; the meal and the band. We are delighted to have received our second AA rosette this year. Our Executive Chef Gordon Smyth and his team are great to work with. Their food is simply amazing! We have recently won in the Irish Hotel Awards Hotel Restaurant of the Year in Ireland and in Ulster 2019.
Gerry our Head Concierge is part of the Les Clefs d’Or. There are only 44 members out of 25 hotels in the whole of Ireland. He is a great asset to have on our team. Les Clefs d’Or Concierges are recognized worldwide by the wearing of the “Cross Keys ” on their lapels.
Are there places around the area that you can take photos?
There are lots of areas around the hotel which are great for photos for your Redcastle Hotel wedding:
- The Hotel Grounds, including the water’s edge background or rolling parklands
- The Bridal Suite (including private balcony)
- Redcastle Pier (one minute drive from the hotel)
- There are a choice of beautiful beaches on our doorstep including Stroove Beach and Culdaff Beach

We have the experience of organising many beautiful civil ceremonies at the Redcastle Oceanfront, Golf & Spa Hotel and can assist you in the preparations for your special day. We are an officially approved and licensed venue for holding Civil Ceremonies.
We can also offer you the Deck for an outdoor wedding ceremony! This is a small intimate space that you can take over and there create the perfect wedding location.
