Downhill Beach is an amazing photography destination, where you can get everything you’d want as a photographer. There’s a boundless ocean, lush greenery, and beautiful clouds in the background. You can play with light and enjoy the Mussenden Temple’s view on the cliff edge above. Sinéad and Conner gave me the opportunity to photograph their engagement session at this wonderful location, and I am very thankful for that. We also took some portraits at the lovely Bishop’s Gate Gardens, and needless to say, the images came out stunning!
Sinéad and Conner first met in early 2013 in a nightclub after exchanging a few texts on Blackberry Messenger. Sinead told me that she was very nervous when she first saw Conner but slowly calmed herself down and went ahead to meet him. She says they’ve survived many dates and drunken nights in Belfast since then, and are inseparable now.
Sinéad is a web designer, and Conner is getting his IT degree while working as a welder. The two of them moved into their new home some time ago and have even welcomed a golden retriever puppy called Charlie. Sinéad says, “We also love to travel, whether it is for a week to relax in Spain, or jumping in the car and discovering Donegal, or the west coast of Ireland.”
For the proposal, Conner surprised Sinéad by asking her to choose her engagement ring while they were on a shopping trip. Later, he secretly collected it and popped the question in her room. Sinéad said that while it might not be very dramatic, it was a perfect proposal for her.
On the day of their engagement shoot, we got some stunning photographs at Downhill Beach before moving on to Bishop’s Gate Gardens. The thick clouds added drama to the photos, and I absolutely loved it.
Sinéad and Conner, thank you! Your engagement session was full of fun, and I loved being your photographer!
