The winter rain tried its hardest to dampen the spirits on Claire & Ryan’s big day but it couldn’t compete with the love and laughter between these two! It was an unusually early start for the groomsmen as they headed to Bare Knuckle Barbers for a shave and a cut to look as fresh as possible for the festivities. But even though the guys scrubbed up as much as they could, there was no competition with the stunning bride and her bridesmaids who were all in high spirits getting ready.
At the chapel the groom let slip on his nerves when he held out the wrong hand to greet his soon-to-be father-in-law but it set the mood for the rest of the service with smiles (and a few tears) all round! Even with storm Frank approaching the Red Door gardens did not disappoint and we captured some gorgeous photos before heading indoors for some more shots in the stunning country house.
The couple had a trick up their sleeve for their dinner with every table given a secret Christmas song and a time to sing it, all in competition to see who could perform the best with the toy instruments left on the tables! After a controversial decision from the top table judges giving their grandparents victory, Claire’s granddad generously auctioned off his champagne prize with the money going to the couples’ charity, to applause from everyone.
I have known Ryan and Claire for years and I was delighted when they chose me for their wedding photography, I had a brilliant day with both of them and loved being able to celebrate their wedding into the small hours once I was “off-duty”!
