Aimée and Lee make us believe that distance can’t crack a solid bond. The couple got married in a winter wedding at the Lough Eske Castle. An already picturesque location, Ultimate Touches decor added to its elegance. One didn’t have to be at the wedding to know that this couple is truly, madly, deeply in love. Their smiles during the ceremony are a testament to their excitement of starting a new phase in life together. I am honored to have been part of such a special day for the couple.
Not to forget, Aimée really did get her princess moment at the Lough Eske Castle. And the princess’ knight in shining armour was seen riding a shiny, black (engine-run) Mustang, which the princess herself surprised him with. There were too many feel-good and personal moments from this wedding.
Aimée and Lee’s Castle Wedding
Aimée and Lee met during a night out in Derry ten years ago. Lee now works in America and has been travelling back to Aimée throughout their relationship. But, now that they two were getting married, they would be living in America together. Being apart for so long is never really easy, and planning a wedding from a distance is even tougher. The different time zones, coordination with vendors, locking the different elements – none of it comes easy. But these two persevered.
Lee proposed to Aimée on a Christmas day in front of her family, so it just made sense for them to get married during the winter (don’t forget to take a look at their rings from Sproules Jewellers). Aimée’s love for Christmas trees was also another reason why the couple chose this location and this time of the year. The bride couldn’t wait to have her photo taken outside Lough Eske’s Christmas tree at night. It’s undoubtedly a beautiful image! The majestic tree with the lights and just these two love birds in front of it. The contrast in the sizes makes the photograph even more interesting.
The couple took it up a notch with a Harry Potter-themed reception. The seating arrangement was classified by the different houses of Harry Potter, and the tables even had a sorting hat! To top it all, the wedding cake by For Goodness Cakes, with a Golden Snitch at the top and Harry Potter glasses and a wand at the bottom, also matched the theme of the reception. We couldn’t be happier for two Potterheads finding each other. With an in-house casino, the couple ensured that there wasn’t a single dull moment during their big day.
The father-daughter dance was another special moment from the day. It started off with the classic slow dance and eventually picked up pace. The father and daughter were clearly having the time of their lives. Later, guests on the dance floor were grooving to a live performance by The Mindbenders.
The bridesmaids were all dressed up in Amore Bridal. Katrina, the Maid of Honor, and Chris, the Bestman were by the couple’s side to support them and ensure that everything went smoothly on their special day. Charlie, the adorable junior groomsman, was a pro throughout the day. Before dinner, he even delivered a heartwarming speech for the couple.
From the bride surprising the groom with a Mustang and the Harry Potter-themed reception to the junior groomsman’s adorable speech, there were so many unforgettable moments from Aimée and Lee’s wedding. There wasn’t a single moment in the day that I wasn’t in awe of these families coming together.
