Lauren + Ian’s Wedding – Leighinmohr House Hotel

See more:

Lauren & Ian had a touching wedding ceremony at the Beech Hill Hotel, followed by celebrating their reception at the Leighinmohr House Hotel, Ballymena.

Rainy day weddings can turn into the most beautiful. When Lauren and Ian married last August, the heavy rain could not dampen their joy. It poured during the ceremony! However, as they made their vows to one another, it felt like the clouds were melting away and afterwards, the skies were blue and beautiful. Their wedding was planned so that sweet memories and the things most important to the couple and their families were woven throughout the day.

The love story of Lauren and Ian started 10 years ago. Lauren and Ian met at their church. They started dating when Ian gave Lauren a Valentine’s card in 2014. However, their families knew these two were a perfect match and their parents wanted them to date! Lauren is a school teacher and Ian works with pWc Ireland.

This couple was such a pleasure to work with on their wedding day. Lauren and her bridesmaids got ready at the home of Lauren’s parents. This is her childhood home. Even the family dog, Doodles, was there to send Lauren off, looking dapper in a little tie to match the formal occasion. Unfortunately the page boys were not able to travel to the wedding but they surprised Lauren with photos of them all dressed up for the day, celebrating from a distance!

The ceremony took place at Beech Hill Country House Hotel in their fabulous garden pavilion. This wedding venue does not disappoint with its gorgeous grounds full of character. Everyone stayed nice and dry despite the rain, allowing all the guests to focus on the beauty of the moment between Lauren and Ian.

Their connection to God is incredibly important to them and this was represented throughout their wedding day. Lauren walked down the aisle on a runner with a Ephesians 5:31 painted on it – “And the two shall become one.” Their guest book was a Bible. Guests left messages by their favourite verses in the Bible.

The sun did shine again after the ceremony and the reception at Leighinmohr House Hotel was amazing! The loveliest wedding details are always those with special meaning to the couple. Ian chose the breathtaking Harvey’s Point as the perfect spot to propose and he hid Lauren’s engagement ring in a kinder egg. The table favours at their reception were kinder eggs! The reception also included a “Love Is Sweet” table covered in their favorite candies and treats. Everyone loved the ice cream on duty for dessert along with a delicious cake!

A vintage VW bug and VW van made for some of the coolest wedding party cars I have ever seen! A “Just Married” sign hung on the restored tractor of Ian’s uncle. Even this was a sentimental detail as Ian grew up playing on this tractor.

Lauren and Ian, it was an honor to capture your wedding day as your photographer. Everything about your wedding was splendid! Your love for each other was a bright spot in 2020 and I pray your 2021 is off to a great beginning as man and wife.
