Nicola & Gary married in a touching Humanist wedding ceremony in the Orange Tree House in Greyabbey, surrounded by their closest friends and family.
It was such a gorgeous day in the August sunshine but Nicola & Gary were both cool and calm on their wedding morning. Nicola’s bridesmaids had flown in from as far afield as Australia to share their special day, while football coach Gary and his groomsmen even had time for a quick kickabout before the ceremony!
This wedding was extra special to me as I have known Gary my whole life, our parents were close friends before even they were married! I have watched them grow as a couple, with their first meeting in England when Gary was visiting mutual friends and then Nicola moving to NI before Gary popped the question on a trip to Mount Stewart.
Their Humanist wedding ceremony was incredibly touching, with their closest friends and family asked to bring sand from their favourite beaches for the sand ceremony. Just as the grains of sand within the vase can never be separated, they represent the happy couple who will always be together.
After the ceremony their guests basked in the sunshine outside the Orange Tree House, giving the afternoon a very Mediterranean vibe. Heading back indoors for their reception and Gary was starting to feel a little nervous about all the tales that his best man Tom could tell before dinner. Luckily for Gary, Tom was able to mention the stories without shaming him too much!
It was a fantastic day and I loved seeing two of my closest friends tie the knot as well as partying the night away with afterwards!
Some of the fantastic people who helped create this amazing day!
